I myself know about ten kids with a mother or father or both abroad. Actually, the above article is about a village south of the capital where a girl in my TEFL group teaches. I think it's fairly indicative of the lives that most volunteers face in the villages.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

Very interesting story... It allows me to understand how blessed we are in the United States.
I cannot imagine having to leave my children for work.
Hey Andy,
How’s your faith life?
Andy,
An interesting snap shot of a growing problem not isolated anymore to any particluar region. In this time in which we live it seems universally true that parents have a great faith in education as the door opener to a better life, everyone can cite many cases where this has happened. But as noted in the newspaper report the consequences are varied. Here as there it may be that both parents have to work, yet here for now they still are able come home at night. So the "better life" envisioned may not be a relaxing life, or even what would have been called normal only a few decades ago.
I wish her and the others the best !
Dad
